Boys & Girls Club of Auburn Hills Receives Some Holiday Cheer

On Saturday, December 12, 2011 Quicken Loans, Fathead and The Detroit Pistons hosted their 2011 Holiday Celebration at the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn Hills. This celebration commemorated the big reveal of the newly renovated multimedia room at the Auburn Hills Club. Together, Quicken Loans, Fathead and The Pistons were able to gave this room a one-of-a kind makeover!B&G2

The room was in need of a burst of livelihood; and it was our goal to create a fun and practical learning environment for the Boys & Girls Club Members. Quicken Loans provided all new computers, monitors, software and a laser printer, along with some Detroit themed Fatheads to spruce up the walls. The room was painted a vibrant Pistons-blue and red; new furnishings, bean bags, and a commerative plaque were all brought in to create cool learning spaces for the Club Members as well.

Quicken Loans and Fathead were sponsors of The Pistons Care Telethon back in March of 2011, where over $350,000 in pledges were raised to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs in Michigan. These funds will be used to provide 7,000 Boys & Girls Club annual memberships as well as support the cost of programming for youth in need. AME_6470

That same morning, a ribbon ribbon cutting ceremony took place and the room makeover was revealed to everyone in attendance.  Quicken Loans volunteers spent the morning creating fun holiday treats and playing games with the Club Members. All of the Club Members in attendance were able to stop by to say hello to Santa Claus, and take part in a Pistons Basketball Clinic held by Coach Aaron Smith of the Pistons.  Rick Mahorn of The Pistons, The Pistons Dance Team, Hooper and the Flight-Crew provided ample amounts of entertainment throughout the day; as every child left smiling and filled with energy!

What a great way to kick-off the Holiday Season! For more information about the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn Hills click here.
