Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation
The Detroit Jazz Festival is the largest, free jazz festival in the world, making this unique civic event a cherished Detroit asset. Attracting more than 300,000 people annually for four-days, the event continues to showcase to the world the positive attributes of our great city. The Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation is a major cultural institution, providing year-round concerts and educational programming that culminates in one of the world’s premier jazz festivals on Labor Day weekend.
Detroit Symphony Orchestra
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is a community supported orchestra that continues to be one of the nation’s longest-lasting and most forward-thinking ensembles. This funding supports the DSO’s Classical Roots program, the “African American Fellowship” program, and an international competition that selects 1-2 fellows to live, work, and play in Detroit, while being mentored by key DSO musicians.
America’s Thanksgiving Parade Foundation
America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van has been one of the country’s largest and most spectacular parades in the United States since 1924. Every year, hundreds of thousands of parade spectators line the historic Woodward Avenue on Thanksgiving morning to watch the larger than life floats, colorful helium-filled balloons, thunderous marching bands, and exciting specialty acts! The Parade Company is the producer of the Ford Fireworks, which is attended by thousands from across the metro-Detroit area.
